Joshua Lee Hoiland, 31, Minot, died Thursday, March 14, 2013, near Stanley, ND, from injuries sustained in a work related accident.
Josh was born January 4, 1982, in Hazen, ND to Eldon and Janice (Reinhardt) Hoiland. He moved with his family to several different cities, including, Beulah, Baltic, SD, Deering, Williston and Minot. While in Baltic, SD, he played basketball and was teammates with his brother, Justin.
While growing up he enjoyed spending summers at his Grandma, Ida Reinhardt’s home in Beulah. He also enjoyed riding bike and fishing with his friends. Between the ages of 10 to 13 he enjoyed trucking with his uncle Al and he covered 37 states by the time he was 14.
On April 27, 2009, Josh married Ashley Hanson in Minot. They made their home in Minot and together had a beautiful daughter, Brooklyn Leigh Hoiland, who he adored and who was his pride and joy.
Josh was a go getter, he loved to work and enjoyed trucking in his semi. He worked for Stallion Oilfield Services, Badger Daylighting, Rockwater Energy Solutions and most recently First Choice Energy.
Josh and Ashley enjoyed making trips to Las Vegas for their Anniversaries. He enjoyed visiting the Pawn Stars shop every trip there. He also liked to watch the Reality Shows, Pawn Stars, Duck Dynasty, Truck Repo and Storage Wars. In the summer months he loved working in the yard and making trips to the zoo with his family.
Josh loved animals, and had a huge heart for everyone. If someone was in need he was the first there to help them out.
Those who shared in his life, Wife, Ashley Elizabeth Hoiland; daughter, Brooklyn Leigh Hoiland; both Minot; parents, Eldon and Janice Hoiland, Williston, ND; brothers, Jeremy (Amber) Hoiland, Williston, and Justin Hoiland, Minot; nephews, Cooper and Jaeger Hoiland, and niece, Aleah Hoiland; grandmother, Mabel Hoiland, Minot; his favorite uncle, Al Reinhardt, Bismarck, and several other aunts, uncles and cousins; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Steve and Leslie Hanson, Minot; sister-in-law, Nicole Hanson, Fargo.
Josh was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herbert and Ida Reinhardt and Roy Hoiland and by many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral: Thursday, March 21, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethel Free Lutheran Church, Minot, ND.
Visitation and prayer service: Visitation will be Wednesday, March 20, 2013, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
