I will miss my talks with Sid, he was a true friend and a gentleman. He helped me in so many ways. He always had time to listen. His Love for his darlin Ruth was always on his face and in his voice. He is now at his favorite fishing hole smiling down on us all. I am sure he will take us all there when we join him. Ruth, I wish I was there to hold you, I know Sid would let me do that. I also know David is there and helping you thru this, give each other a hug for me. Love is always lasting. God Bless.

From: Rod Peterson (Sid's Nephew)

One of the greatest survival tips I have ever received was from Sid while we were staying the night in Billings on our way toward California from North Dakota. He told me the only way to survive through the desert is to have a shovel with you so if a rattlesnake crosses your path you can fend him off and then cut his head off with the shovel.
I found this to be good advice since we were heading through the desert and I asked him if he had a shovel we could borrow.
Sid said no and walked away with the shovel he was leaning on while telling the story.

Deepest sympathies to you all and I will try to be there in the spring for the burial.
