Memories for Peggy

From: Kathryn Thompson, Alice Hardway, Dale Gibson & Karen Cunningham (Gibson Classmates at Cross Roads School)

Peggy Lou was a dear grade school classmate and friend. Her Mother sewed for us kids and her Dad was so kind and let us horseback ride at their house. Our love and sympathy to all of Peggy's children and families.

I went to grade school with the 4 older children. I also worked for her the first year I graduated highschool in the County Clerk's Office. Thank you.

I was teaching at South Prairie School when Peggy was office manager there. Peggy wore so many hats--secretary, office manager, nurse, sympathetic listener, messenger, and much more. She was always kind and respectful to everyone and no matter how busy she was, she would take the time for whoever needed her. The students and staff members all loved her. Peggy will always have a special place in my heart!

Requests: Dean, Glenna, and Jody,

You have my sympathy upon the death of your mother, which I read in the Bridgeport Leader. I added you to my prayer list at that time. My fondest memory of her is when she drove us to Evansville for dinner near the airport in the convertible with the top down (my first convertible ride). This was probably 1962 when Dean and I were in 8th grade at Petrolia. Also, do you remember when she had us write down what we wanted to be and we would look at them again when we graduated from high school?
I did become a teacher for 33 years in 4th grade here in Tuscola,IL.
Where are you in FL? We've been visiting FL in the winter months for 6 years. It would be great to know how all of you are doing and what occupations you have.

Sincere sympathy,
Patty

P.S. My mother has been gone for 6 years in August.
