Memories for Mert

From: Maureen and family

I wish we could be there with you, but know that you are in our thoughts and prayers. We will miss Uncle Mert, he was always our mainstay in Kenmare, and we have many fond memories of times spent with him.
God's peace,

So sorry to hear about your loss. I worked with Mert at the bank for thirteen years and have many good memories of him there and also of his singing.

God Bless

Wanted you to know that my thoughts and prayers are with your family at this time. When my mom called and told me Mert had passed, I had a peaceful feeling. Mert and Janet were both so wonderful to me. I feel so blessed to have had them as a part of my life. What witnesses they were for Jesus. Quite sure their reunion was an amazing site for all in heaven!! He will be missed. Love and Prayers- Tracy Grueneich

May God's grace be with you and your family during this time of your loss. Thinking of you in prayer. We only met Mert one Sunday at Immanuel and he left a lasting impression of a very kind man who didn't complain about his arthritis, he just lived with it. Joe and Diane Miller (Wyoming, MN)

Our sympathy and prayers are with you at this time of sorrow. I like this analogy of death:

A ship sails and I stand watching till it fades on the horizon and someone at my side says, "He is gone." Gone where? Gone from my sight, that is all; he is just as large as when I saw him. The diminished size, and total loss of sight is in me, not in him, and just at the moment when someone at my side says. "He is gone," there are others who are watching him coming, and other voices take up a glad shout, "Here he comes!" and that is dying.

I can imagine Janet shouting, "Here he comes!" I know how he missed her and what a joyous reunion that will be with her and his Lord."

"As for me, I will behold Thy face in righteousness: I shall be satisfied, when I awake, with Thy likeness."
Ps. 17:15

We thank the Lord for giving us the opportunity to know Mr. Coughlin. We prayed together, studied God's Word together and someday will be together again with our King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

From: Tim German

From Janet's side, Tim German, nephew.  The last time we (Gorge & Ethel (Grenvik) German family) spent the day at the Coughlins, I was in grade school.  Time and life is fleeing.  I will always remember the positive influence Mert and Janet provided our family.  They were treasured and are missed.
