Memories for Max From: Doug Pearson --------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Jim Gathman Max was a big part of how I became the man that I am today. He taught me the craftsmanship of carpentry. He taught me to use my God given talents, and I've always said that Max has probably forgotten more about carpentry than I'll ever know. He taught me how to use the best of my ability and that you should only do work that you can be proud of. As a young man, Max took me under his wing and took me to many areas in the surrounding states. He always believed in me, even when I found it difficult to believe in myself. Max is probably one of the finest craftsman I will ever be honored to know, and he will be greatly missed. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Kent Swanson Having known Max all of my adult life, in my mind he was the greatest Model T man there was. Since helping me start my first Model T in 1988, he was a great influence in my life and hobby and will always be one. I will miss him dearly. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Lane Sundsbak Iknew Max since we went for our phsical for the Army in 1944.Max was a true friend and buddy, when I started wood working he would give me all kinds of pointers.I have never seen him turn down a kid selling candy, cookies magazines or what have you,he was such a good hearted man.I had coffee at his place every morning for the last 20 years, right up to the day before his death,I will sure miss the old boy,god bless you Max --------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: The Heppler Family We have only lived in Des Lacs for a few years. When we first
moved here Max saw us out walking and stoped us to welcome us
to town. We would walk past his house every night and he would
make sure he stoped us and said hello. He was such a kind person,
who always made sure to buy a box or two of Girl Scout cookies.
Max will be greatly missed. The short time our family knew Max
he made us feel so welcome and cared for. God bless you in your
sad time. I know Max is still watching over us. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
