had surgery this morning so it was impossible to be there, but

Dear family of "Uncle Joe":
You have my deepest sympathy. He was a very special great-uncle
and I shall never forget him. I remember going to visit all of
you when you lived on the Ranch. In his special memory I have
given a memorial to the Minnewaukan Public Library in Minnewaukan,
ND. This is my hometown and great uncle Joe and great aunt Clara
visited us many, many times. They will be forever in my heart.
