Memories for Irene

From: Joleen & Josephine Dice

By Josephine; Irene was my closest & dearest friend, she was more like a sister to me. She was suppose to be Geneva's friend but Irene & I got to be pretty close too. I was 15 years old when Irene came to live with us, so she was 19. Her family moved (I don't remember where to) & she & Alfred were in love, so Irene lived with us for one year before her & Alfred got married. I remember one summer evening, Irene & I wanted to go for a walk, so we decided to walk to the mailbox & back, it was a 6 mile trek. But we had fun, talking & stuff. I remember we used to run races outside, we used to have lots of laughs. We used to wrestle all the time too. One time, we were on the kitchen floor wrestling & dad was right there, rooting us on & mom got mad at dad for carrying on. Irene & I had a lot of fun together, I loved her just like my sister. Gerry, Denise and Family -
My sincere condolences in the loss of your Grandmother. Reading her obituary, I couldn't help but believe that she lived a full and wonderful life. Knowing that she not only had 14 children but a bazillion grandchildren as well should be comforting. I am sure she was loved and will be missed by many. May you find peace in your many memories. Cheryl
