Memories for Gary

From: Valerie Sampson

Dear Brent, Lorinda, and all of the Engebretson family,
I was very saddened to read of your loss. Having lost my own mother recently, I sympathize deeply with the pain you are feeling right now. Take care of each other...you are all in my prayers, and I am sure countless others.

Our condolences go out to you and your family on the loss of Gary. Memories are never lost and we will always remember him as a fellow Teke, a fellow Vietnam Veteran, a fellow student at Douglas High School, and a fellow McGregor HS teacher. We are so happy that his life was filled with accomplishment, family and, most importantly, love. May the Lord strengthen you at this time and until you are reunited with him.

Sincerely,

Chuck & Earlene (Danielson) McDonald

Engebretson family,
So sorry to hear of your loss. Gary was someone I alway's had alot of respect for, and I'll alway's remember him telling me to keep my back elbow up while batting at baseball games. I still use that advice in softball every week. Our pray's are with you guy's. Take care.

Dearest Mary Ann and family,
I was truly saddened to hear of Gary's death. My heart goes out to all of you as you grieve such a great loss. It's difficult to understand when one is taken in the prime of life, however, God never promised a long life but He does promise ETERNAL life to those who believe the Good News. And that's where our comfort comes from. We know we will be reunited in God's perfect timing. Asking God to wrap His loving, healing arms around all of you and give the peace that can only come from Him. You will remain in my prayers in the days and months ahead. I know it won't be easy but continue to look to the Lord for whatever it is you need. He is faithful as we read in Philipians 4:19, "But my God shall supply all your needs." And in Hebrew 13:5 leave thee, nor forsake thee." I'm so sorry I can't be there for the funeral. Take care of each other.
All my love and prayers,
Karen

I am so sad to hear of Gary's passing. To say he was one of my favorite teachers (MLHS)kind of trivializes it - he was an inspiration and I learned a lot from him about English, acting and life. Some of my best HS memories happened on the stage at the theater on Main Street Med. Lake. I know he will be missed by all of you and my prayers are with you all at this time.

To Gary's Family:
Holly and I were sad to hear of Gary's passing. He has been thru so much with his illness. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. He touched so many young lives in his years of education that his memory will live on. His influence to his former students will stand the test of time. He always had a smile on his face when we met up with him at the farm, hauling grain or talking hunting.
He will be missed by so many.
To a great man and a honored veteran of Vietnam.
God Bless

Thinking of you folks during the time of your loss. Whenever I think of Gary I smile because that is what I was always met with from him when we talked. Was it a smile or was it a little smirk? Well, whatever it was you knew he enjoyed seeing you. Thinking of you. Take care and God bless. ~~~Gary

Mary Ann, Brent, Dan and Andrea,
We were so sorry to hear about Gary. We sure enjoyed having him and all of you in Ray. Ronald served on the school board with Gary and learned many valuable lessons from him. Gary was always a wonderful support to all the kids in Ray and throughout the state. The state track meet doesn't feel the same without Gary on the track. Our thoughts and prayers are with each and everyone of you.

I was so saddened to hear of Gary's passing. I remember him best from our high school days. Even though I went to Max I was in Douglas a lot for basketball games and other activities. It was good to see him and catch up in recent years at events in Douglas.
You all are in my thoughts and prayers. He left way too soon.
Sincerely,
Connie Sambor

Dear Mary Ann and family,
I'm so sorry to hear of Gary's passing. It's not easy to lose someone as special as he is. I've always been proud to consider him one of my best friends. We will miss his penchant for good natured fun and how much he cared for others. I am glad my friend Linda and I were able to visit you. You and yours are in my prayers.
