I am sorry I could not be there for you today. My thoughts are with you and your family. Your father was such a strong and principled man. I remember all of the times he took us to Bishop Ryan Basketball games even the ones out of town. I also remember all of the times he kept his eye on you and all of your friends, making sure we didnâ t get into too much trouble. His love for you was evident in the way he cared for you, your sister and your mom and in the way he was always there for you, supporting you and guiding you. We were able to make it to the Funeral Home to visit Dave today however will not be able to make the funeral services due to medical concerns. I was honored to serve on the Minot City Council with Dave from 1986 until he left the Council in 1991. We both represented the 7th Ward and Dave was truly a worthy representative of the people. I would like to offer my sincerest sympathy on your loss.
David took me under his wing years ago at the State Eagle conv. and I could always seek his advice. One convention he asked me to run against two No. Dakota boys to break up the votes so the person he favored would win. I did it for him and found out the person he favored was me. I went on to the State Presidency and will be the Northcentral Region President in July. David has not only given me guidence, but everyone he ever met. He never dictated advice, but gave it as advice with a suggestion to seek out the other opinions.

We will never be able to replace or have another David Germain. We can only follow his fine example and try our best to do him honor!!!
