Memories for Charles From: Dan & Jeri Langemo We were very saddened to learn of Charles' passing. He was an incredibly kind person, whose caring devotion to his wife was as good an example of Christian love as you could possibly find anywhere. The world would definitely be a better place if there were more people like Charles Ruppert, and our loss is deep now that he has left us. May God be with you at this difficult time, and comfort you in the many wonderful memories you have of him. many area games. It was always a treat to work for Charlie, as
he was the prime example of class, dignity and professional conduct.
His teams had excellant fundamentals and work ethics. He took
coaching and teaching to the highest level. Recruiting his athletes
always got a warm reception with future educational goals of
his athletes being the highest priority. I was fortunate to have
known him from a distance, as he added to the quality of being
a teacher and coach. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: John Severson I grew up in Stanley and played basketball against the New Town Eagles many times (1960-63). --------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Jay and JoAnn (Ruppert) Snyder I just learned today (March 18th) that your Dad passed away.
It was a real shock. If Mom knew of his death she didn t remember
to say anything. He is my last Uncle. He sang at our wedding.
We were always proud of him and his accomplishments, especially
his basketball successes. We are sending our thoughts, sympathies
and prayers. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- To the families of Mr. Ruppert: May God bless all of you and
cherish the beautiful memories of your father and grandfather. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Wendy Fladeland "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on
your own understanding;in all your ways acknowledge Him, and
He will make your paths straight" Proverbs 3:5 --------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: DON SAND Please accept my most heartfelt condolences for the loss of
this dearly beloved coach and father. I was priviledged to have
been a member of the NTHS basketball program under the tutelage
of Coach Ruppert from 1958-1961. We were ranked 1'st in the class
B polls for most of my senior year but suffered a devastating
loss in the semi-finals of the state tournament to Mott that
continues to haunt me 48 years later. I will always remember
Coach Ruppert for his exceptional basketball knowledge, passion
for sports, and love of teaching. I especially remember the many
times he was willing to open the gym on Sunday afternoons (his
time for family and rest) so we could indulge our love for the
game of basketball. He also taught me how to type in a commerce
class for which I'm forever grateful. But in the "game of
life" Coach Ruppert will forever be remembered for his integrity,
love of family, dedication to the art of teaching, and steadfast
devotion to his beloved wife, high school! --------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Ethyl & Russ Papineau Our sympathy goes out to all the family in your loss, also
losing your mother so recently. What a gift your father gave
caring --------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Denise Washburn Grantier I have thought about my former teacher alot in the last few
weeks. Watford City won the region title in basketball and had
quite a few tight games lately. I was thinking of Mr. Ruppert
and him never wanting his bb players to be dating or having girl
problems during the season. :) Ant I stated just that in the
last few weeks with a smile on my face... --------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Tim and Judy (Kraft) Bingen To the Ruppert Family, --------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Dave Vold Our sincere condolences to the Ruppert family in the loss of their father and grandfather. As a high school senior in 1954 the Oak Grove Grovers played Mr. Ruppert's New Town team in the first game of the Class B tourney. I remember his gracious and kind words to me following the game which the Grovers won. He definitely was a "class act" in my book. Blessed be his memory. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Chipper Farrell Charley was such a great mentor to so many coaches in ND. Father, Grandfather as well as our Coach and Friend. I had the
proud priviledge of being a "CHARLIE EAGLE" My senior
year 1957' we were ranked #1 in Class B basketball polls winning
20 straight games and averaged some 70+ points per game. Charles
Ruppert was the "Dean" of High School Coaching. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- From: Noah D. Williams What a fine man your father was, he taught alot of people
not only about athletics but honor and ethics. As a boy it was
him that took the extra time to do the little things that steered
me in a better direction. Golf, baseball, Basketball Tennis,
Football, he was the one responsible along with my grandmother
and grandfather that gave me the passion to play and to learn.
