Memories for Anna
From: eforsman1@msn.com
Dear family, My name is Janet Dostert Forsman. Anna Schan
is my first cousin. Her dad Tony and my Dad John were brothers
growing up on the farm in N.D.
My husband and I live in Spokane and visited her by phone and
car several times a year. She and her family came to Thanksgiving
Dinner with my parents in Spokane for many years. I remember
little Johnny as a young boy.
I will miss Anna and her loving letters and cards of many years.
I knew she was not doing well when her neice wrote her Christmas
card to us for her this last December. Anna was a sharp cookie,
spoke her mind, and had a cute sense of humor. Her greatest chuckle
was over a remark by my sister-in-law who said: "You can
always tell a Dostert but you can't tell them much."
Anna and I shared a fondness for dishes, collecting dishes, not
doing dishes. I don't know if she told others our secret.
My husband and I attended Johnny's funeral Mass and burial in
February 2003 followed by a close gathering of family for a meal
in their home at Dalton Gardens. It was nice.
We will try to make it to the visitation on Friday May 8th. In
the meantime, we extend our deepest sympathy to the entire family.
May God give us comfort at this time.
Sincerely, Janet Dostert Forsman in Spokane
