Memories for Agnes

From: Jackie Nelson (Hermanson)

I have fond memories of Agnes, of years ago. I would talk with her when I visited my friend judy johnson. Sorry I didn't get a chance to say hello to all the Grabow kids at Lillian's funeral, had to rush back to bismarck.
Again my deepest sympathy for your family's loss.

Please accept Ron's and my heartfelt sympathy.
I will always remember Grandma having "Chicklets" gum in her purse at all times, it was a treat for us grandkids. At times when we stayed over night at their house, Grandma would fix Cocoa Wheats for breakfast and that was a definite treat! Her hugs were generous and never ending, her laughter was a lovely sound, and it would always show in her eyes. I also remember how it felt to say good-bye to her when we visited, as she hugged us fiercely in her way of holding on longer, I always cried and I never understood it until I was older. Again saying good-bye to Grandma, only now it would be for the very last time, made me cry. I believe she is extremely happy now among all her loved ones who have gone before her.

Thinking of you as you have the memorial service for my dear "Aunt Aggie". So many of us have so many happy memories with her. From early childhood, to adult years, I always knew she loved me and cared what happened to me. She was just that type of a person. I am so thrilled to know she is now in heaven with many more of our loved ones, and hers, who went on before her. What a joy for us to have this promise. Love you all, Janis

Dear Mom,

I'm sorry that we could not be with you today, mom, but I know the other sblings are there to tell you good-bye.

I am glad that your day has come to be with God. You told so many times you wanted to go home and we never knew just where that was. Was it South Prairire, your home in Surrey or where. I believe you were talking about Heaven where thr other loved ones are.

I prayed every nite that God would watch over you, and I know he did and for him to do whatever his Will was. He let us keep you with us til He felt it was time and then took you home You are playing the piano for the Angels and singing along.

I will always miss you as the other one will.

I love you Mom and always will. You are at peace now and do not hurt.

I will be with you some day.

Love You
Arlene and Butch

Grandma "Hoppin" was THE best hugger a kid could ever ask for. I too, cried each and every time I had to tell her, or Grandpa goodbye. In this last week, I've tried so many times to say goodbye, but I just can't, so I tell her that I love her. Each day and night when I sit back and think of her, the first thing that comes to ind, is her standing in her kitchen in Surrey, with her hands on her hips, and saying,"My stars..." I've missed hearing that for a long time, so when I want to hear it, I just close my eyes, and think of her. I too remember the coca things, but I never really liked them, so Grandpa would share his eggs with me whenever Grandma would go around the corner to a different room. But I also remember watching Wonderful World of Disney on Sunday night, and getting a big glass of chocolate malt, she made the best.
So, for now, I'm not going to say goodbye, Gramma, I'm just going to say see you later, and I love you.........Stacy

You could always find Grandma in the kitchen cooking Sunday dinner's for our families. I remember Grandma Hoppman playing the piano every Sunday Morning at church while Mom (Lillian Grabow) sang. Grandma will be missed deeply by all.

I have so many memories of going over to grandma and grandpa's house in Surrey every time we could go. From the times we just sat out on the porch and you could smell all the flowers grandma had growing. And riding the trikes around the square sidewalk in the front of the house. Then everytime I hear the sound of the news show Sixty Minutes, I can remember grandpa sitting in his chair watching the news. Every memory I have of them is a happy one. One day we will all be together again. I know they are both looking down on us now. Mey you rest in peace Grandma, we'll see you again some day. We all love you.

Love,
Bobbi, Bill, Lane and Alyson

I will always remember mom's cinnamon rolls. Whenever I and Lyle, or Arlen and the boys would come home for a visit, she'd have made fresh cinnamon rolls for us. Shane remembers the hugs she gave, as she said she'd like to "squeeze the stuffins out of them." I have passed on the "cinnamon roll" tradition on to my family, so each time they come home for a visit, they will smell fresh cinnamon rolls on the counter. I am confident that she is now with our Lord and Savior and they are sharing a hug, a cup of coffee and a fresh cinnamon roll together. I got to see her 2 days before she died and we shared some stories, some songs and a few chuckles even. She always remembered the names "mom and pop" and "Ruth". We will meet again and I await her hug at the door.
