To Jan Barlow & Family,

I was so sorry to hear of Arden's passing. He and I went back to the days of country school, and we shared many fine experiences together while growing up.

My sympathy is extended to you, Jan, and to your family.

From: Phil JOhnson

My first memories are of a red-haired farm kid who joined me as a freshman at MOdel High School. I was very impressed with the fact that he drove a jeep pickup back and forth to school. I enjoyed several rides in that pickup, including spinouts on the winter ice. From that start a friendship of more than fifty years followed.

From: Debbie Valderrama

Dear Jan and family,

I know it's been years since I've seen you, but I had a wonderful time reacquainting with Arden in Drake at Uncle Freddie's funeral. He was so full of life and so happy. I told him that I had recently reread the newspaper article surrounding your marriage license. We had a good laugh about it. I believe I may have sent a copy.

My mom (Eva) always used to say that she could remember Arden's age because he was 10 years younger than she.

I pray for your comfort at this time. Please know that while we are far away, we are with you all in thoughts and prayers.

Love,
Cousin Debbie

I am so sorry to hear of A.J.'s passing. We are thinking of you at this time. Wish I could have been closer to be of some help and return the gesture that you both paid us when mom was sick and passed.

I wonder what A.J. and Mom are doing up in heaven. More than likely enjoying each other's company.

From: James Glaze

Arden was a classmate of mine at Minot Model. Though many years have passed since that time, I fondly recall the great times that we shared including numerous escapades in which Arden, with his well tuned Chevy (or was it a Ford?) was crucial to our mobility (few of us had cars in high school). Perhaps what I remember most, however, was just what a nice person he was-one who never expressed an ill feeling about others. Mary Lou, my wife, knew Arden at Minot State College and she has expressed the same feelings about him. When attending our class reunions, both of us looked forward to becoming re-acquainted with Arden and his wife Janice. Arden will be missed by his many friends.
