Dwain M. Zodrow • 1923 - 2008 Dwain was born on September 17, 1923, in Minot, ND, the son of William and Anna (Kleppe) Zodrow. He was raised and educated in Minot and graduated in 1941, from Minot High School. Dwain entered the United States Air Force on April 28, 1943, serving during World War II. He was stationed in Italy and on September 13, 1945, he was honorably discharged. After his discharge he enrolled at the University of North Dakota where he graduated in 1950, with a degree in Geology, Geography, and Physics with a minor in Latin. Dwain married Vera "Jean" McLauchin on June 27, 1948, at Vincent United Methodist Church in Minot. Dwain was a registered Land Surveyor where he worked with the Bureau of Reclamation from 1950 to 1962 as a Senior Engineering Technician. He was employed at the Minot Air Force Base from 1966 to 1995 as a Senior Engineering Technician and surveyor for the Civil Engineering Squadron. Dwain was an honorary member of the 741st B.S., 455 B.G. at the Minot Air Force Base and was one of their longest civil service employees. He was a member of Vincent United Methodist Church, the Last Man's Club and the American Legion all of Minot. Dwain enjoyed watching NASCAR and the UND Hockey Team. Survivors: wife of 59 years, Jean; son, David (Merrilly) Zodrow; daughters, Barb Zodrow all of Minot and Deb Zodrow, Mandan, ND; granddaughters, Melissa (Brian) Smith, Northport, AL, Ashley (Neil) DelaBarre, Bismarck, ND; grandson, Tim (Katreena) Zodrow, Morristown, TN, two great-grandsons, Tyler and Brodie Smith; great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn DelaBarre; sister, Sharon Elter, Seminole, FL. Dwain was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Beverly Zodrow Jablovskis. Funeral Service: Wednesday, March 19, 2008, at 10:30 a.m. at Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot. Visitation: Tuesday, March 18, 2008, from Noon until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot. Officiant: Rev.
