Daniel M. Ziegler 1939 - 2005 Daniel M. Ziegler, 66, Riverdale, ND, died Tuesday, May 10, 2005, in his home. Daniel Marcus Ziegler was born on March 5, 1939, the son of Sebastian and Margaret (Koble) Ziegler in Minot, North Dakota. He was raised and educated in Karlsruhe. He graduated from Karlsruhe High School in 1957. He enlisted in the United States Army on December 5, 1957, and was honorably discharged on September 4, 1959. Daniel had worked for Westlie Motors and Warner Construction. He then worked for Midwest Motor Express and had retired from there after 28 years. He also volunteered at UniMed for a number of years. He was once married to Judy Schwark. Daniel was a former member of Knights of Columbus, Eagles Aerie, He was currently a member of the Local Teamsters Union and North Dakota Softball Association. He played fastpitch softball and was on numerous state championship teams and also played in many national fastpitch tournaments. In 1988, he was inducted to the North Dakota Softball Hall of Fame. He also was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. Surviving family includes: sons: Jeff Ziegler of Minot; and
Brad Ziegler of Minneapolis, MN; Daniel was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Conrad, Joseph, and Alex Ziegler; and sister, Maggie Van Eckhout. Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, May 14, 2005, at
10:30 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Karlsruhe,
