Elmer "Bob" Ziebarth 1915 - 2003

Elmer "Bob" Ziebarth, 87, 305 8th Ave NE, Minot, died Wednesday, May 7, 2003, at a Minot Medical Center.

Bob was born June 29, 1915, to Edward and Emilie Ziebarth, at the family home in Wilton, ND. Bob's mother and dad homesteaded in Mountrail County. As a youngster, Bob was educated in the Plaza/Parshall area. He rode fence line on Fort Berthold Indian Reservation. He was also a Lone Scout at this time.

Bob married Lucille Oliver on October 2, 1943, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Minot. They resided at Burlington where Bob worked in the coal mines and also for the Great Northern Railroad. Later he and his wife moved to the Berthold area where he worked for area farmers and ranchers. They raised their son, Elmer Jr. and daughter Betty on a farm south of Tagus, ND.

Bob was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Berthold.

Survivors: son, Elmer Ziebarth Jr. and his wife, Marlene, Surrey, ND; daughter, Betty Atherton and her husband, Warren, Stanley, ND; five grandchildren; seven great-granchildren; and sister, Evelyn Peterson, Bozeman, MT. Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille, parents, brothers, Tim, John and Bill, and sisters, Agnes, Edna and Lillian.

Funeral: Monday, May 12, 2003, at 10:30 am at Zion Lutheran Church, Berthold.

Visitation: Sunday, May 11, 2003, from noon until 5:00 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: Wildrose Cemetery, Berthold.
