Edward Zerr 1928- 2006 Edward Sebastian Zerr was born November 26, 1928, the son of Albert and Elizabeth (Wack) Zerr in Harvey, ND. He was raised and educated in the Harvey area. He graduated from Harvey High School. He enlisted in the United States Army on June 24, 1948, and proudly served his country during the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged on May 21, 1952. Ed married Arvilla Erfle on June 10, 1953, in Fessenden, ND. They made their home in Harvey, ND, where he was employed by JC Penny. He then worked for Red Owl for a number of years before transferring with the company to Sioux Falls, SD, and later Brookings, SD. In 1966, they moved back to ND, and Ed continued to work with Red Owl in Minot, ND, until his retirement in 1988, after 28 years with the company. He was a member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, and the Knights of Columbus, both of Minot. He enjoyed doing yard work and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Surviving family includes: Wife of 53 years, Arvilla, Minot; children, Renee (Robert) Gilbertson, Minot, ND, and Kerry (Fran) Zerr, Williston, ND; grandchildren, Jennifer Alvarado, Amanda Zerr, and Eric, Andrea, and Brittnee Gilbertson; one great-grandson, Gunnar Alvarado; brother, Joe (Verna) Zerr, Martin, ND; sister, Betty (Jim) English, Harvey, ND; sister-in-law, Pearl Zerr, Harvey, ND; and several nieces and nephews. Ed was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leo Zerr; sisters, Margaret Volk and Mary Grund. Memorial Mass: Monday, June 19, 2006, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, Minot. Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the book on Sunday from Noon to 5 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Vigil Prayer Service: Sunday, June 18, 2006 at 5 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
