Donald W. Zeretzke 1924 - 2004

Donald W. Zeretzke, 80, 7301-15th Ave. North , Deering, ND, died Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at his home of natural causes.

Donald was born the son of Henry and Dora (Smith) Zeretzke on his parent's farm in Little Deep Township on June 11, 1924. He attended Little Deep Township School for eight years. Then he attended Granville High School where he graduated in 1942. He then worked on the farm. He met Catherine Elm on July 4, 1945. They were later married at the Ward County Courthouse on January 25, 1949. Donald and Catherine had five children.

Donald served on the Little Deep Township Board and the Little Deep Township School . Donald and Catherine traveled to Arizona for the winters for several years. They lived and farmed for 55 years at the current location where Donald came to rest on June 15, 2004.

He is survived by his wife, Catherine Elm Zeretzke, Deering, ND; sons, James and Dan Zeretzke, both of Deering; daughter, Susan Zeretzke Retzlaff and her husband Curt, Fargo. Five grandchildren, Shaun, Jodi, Gabriel, Angel and Joseph Retzlaff; one great-grandchild, Alexis Bourassa; sisters, Evva Stebbins, Gardner, Mt and Beth (James) Jones, Minot.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sons, Larry Zeretzke, John Henry Zeretzke; brother, Wayne Zeretzke and sister, Edith Shobert.

Funeral: Friday, June 18, 2004, at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Minot

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot

Visitation: Thursday, today, from noon until 7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND
