Goble Yonts, Jr. 1950 - 2004

Goble Yonts, Jr., 54, Minot, died Friday, November 19, 2004, in his home.

Goble was born August 1, 1950, in Logan County, West Virginia, the son of Goble, Sr., and Lucille (Castle) Yonts. He attended East High School in Sodaville, Ohio and graduated in 1968.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged, and moved to Greenville, S.C., where he purchased his first Harley Davidson. He worked at the James River Corporation in Simpsonville, South Carolina and was supervisor of that textile plant. He later worked at Creations of Glamour in South Carolina until ill health forced his retirement. He moved back to Ohio for four months and the last five years has resided in Minot.

Goble was a member of AMVETS, the Minot American Legion, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He enjoyed playing bingo and watching sports, especially college football. He listened to Oldies Rock and loved Harley's.

Survivors: Son, Goble Yonts III, Evansville, IN; daughters, Toni (Ken) Register, Nashville, TN, and Carrie Tarlton, Pickens, S.C.; four grandchildren, Kelsey M. Hess, Joseph G. Miles, Madison K. Register, and Sierra D. Tarlton; brother, John H. Yonts, Greenville, S.C.; sisters, Ines M. Yonts, Minot, Carolyn Sue Ramey, Sodaville, OH, Sharon L. Wolford, McDermott, OH, and Marjorie Jane Shover, West Portsmouth, OH; numerous nieces and nephews survive; aunts, Ines M. Mullins and Telma Tackett, both of Ashland, KY; and several cousins.

Goble was preceded in death by his parents, Goble, Sr. and Lucille Yonts.

Cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later time.
