Bruce L. Wright 1946 - 2011 Bruce was born on February 3, 1946 to Lee A. Wright and Mary Ann (Rameden) Wright. As a young boy, he spent his summers with his grandparents, Kassen “Sam” and Bella Rameden on their rural Bowbells farm. There is where his deep love of farming began. He graduated from Minot High School in 1964. From 1967 to 1969, he served in the United States Army. He won a National Defense Service Medal, a Vietnam Campaign Medal, a Vietnam Service Medal, a Bronze Star, and a Purple Heart. He earned a BS degree in Business from Minot State University. In 1970, he married Linda (Hartl) Wright. They had two children, Nicole (1971) and William (1975). Bruce worked at Central Power Electric Cooperative in Minot for several years until he was able to achieve his lifelong dream and become a full time farmer. In 1986, he and his family moved to rural Maxbass. Bruce farmed and raised cattle that he affectionately called “the girls.” In addition, he worked for the ND Department of Agriculture as a credit counselor and for North Central Equipment in Bottineau. Those who knew Bruce knew that he was one of a very special kind. He was easy to like and could talk to anyone. He cared deeply for his family and neighbors and was always ready to lend a helping hand. Since the age of 40, Bruce battled many health related issues. Those who knew him were amazed at the things that he was able to do despite his physical limitations. His indomitable spirit allowed him to continue farming until his death. Bruce had a strong, real faith in God and shared that with others. He was active in his rural community and served on local boards.
