Vida Rose Wold 1920 - 2005

Vida Rose Wold, 84, Grand Forks, formerly of Minot, died Monday, January 10, 2005, at 4000 Valley Square in Grand Forks.

Vida was born August 11, 1920, in Voltaire, ND, the daughter of Emil and Ida (Wallner) Wendland. She was raised near Lake Hester and attended school in that area. She attended Minot State Teacher's College and earned her Teaching Certificate. Vida began teaching in 1939 in Simcoe and later Verendrye.

On December 20, 1941 Vida married Lawrence Wold in Drake, ND. Following their marriage the couple lived in Minot, Glenburn and Barlow, ND, where Vida taught. She retired from teaching in 1960, and in 1961 they moved to Minot.

Lawrence died in August of 1983. Vida continued to live in Minot until January of 1999 when she moved to Grand Forks to be near her daughter and son-in-law.

Vida was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot. She was active in the church and served as Sunday school superintendent for a number of years and also worked in the church office.

Those Who Shared In Her Life, Daughter, Sharon (Paul) Bruggeman, Grand Forks, ND; sister, Gladys (Bruce) Hawthorne, Dearborn, MI; several nieces, nephews and cousins survive. Vida was preceded in death by her parents, Emil and Ida Wendland; sister, Leora Budeau, and brother, Loren Swanson.

Funeral: Saturday, January 15, 2005, at 1:00 p.m., at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot, ND.

Visitation: Saturday, from noon to service time and Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
