Robert L. "Butch" Wittman 1937 - 2010 Robert was born April 6, 1937 on the family farm, near Kenmare, ND to Louis and Lena (Christianson) Wittman. He was raised in the Kenmare area and graduated from Kenmare High School in 1955. Following graduation he moved to California for a short time. Butch entered the United States Army and served until his honorable discharge. He returned to North Dakota and farmed his entire life in the Norma, ND area. He also did carpentry work his entire life and helped his son, Rob with construction for many years. He was once married to Sharon Tenderholt and together they had three children, Cammy, Michele and Rob. Butch enjoyed the time spent with his family and loved his children and grandchildren dearly. He always had the coffee on when you stopped by his place. He loved riding his four-wheeler and bird watching. He loved music and played saxophone for an area band named, “Albert Steiner and the Royals” for a number of years. He served as President on the Kenmare School Board for a time. Those who shared in his life, children, Cammy (Jod) Adams, Michele (Barry) Vietz and Rob (Shelley) Wittman; grandchildren, Garrett Kudrna, Josh Niman, Zach Vietz, Amanda and Cristine Wittman; brother, Bernard (Carol) Wittman; niece, Sandy; nephews, Brian and Kenton. Butch was preceded in death by his grandson, Cody Niman; his parents, Louis and Lena Wittman; brother, Gary; sister, Delores and an infant brother. Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the register book, Friday, October 1, 2010, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare, ND. Burial: Lakeview Cemetery, Kenmare, ND, at a later date.
