Beulah Doris Irwin was born on November 10, 1923, the daughter of Ray and Ada (Harry) Irwin in Minot, North Dakota. She was raised and educated in the Sawyer/South Prairie area where she attended the Bieghle School.

Beulah was united in marriage to Robert Witham on March 23, 1947, in Surrey. They resided in Minot, Fort Bragg, NC, and Nampa, ID. They moved back to Minot in 1951 and then to Parshall in 1952, where together they raised their four children, Sheri, Bobbi, Voni, and Lana. Later they divorced. In 1967 Beulah and her four girls moved to Minot. She continued to reside in Minot until 2003, when she moved to Bismarck and was cared for by her daughters. Robert passed away in 1984.

Beulah was a telephone operator for Bell Telephone during the World War II years. She then stayed at home to raise her children. When all of her children had started school Beulah started employment with Parshall Rexall Drug. After moving to Minot, she was employed at Americana Nursing Home and later at Trinity Nursing Home as a nurses' aide until retiring in 1984.Beulah Witham photo newer

Beulah and her loyal Schnauzer "Cache" enjoyed daily walks together and each others companionship. She enjoyed reading and baking for her grandchildren. She never missed one of her grandchildren's activities. Beulah enjoyed lifelong, loving relationships with her sisters Mickey and Ruby and with her cousins and friends from Parshall and Minot. She was known for her Irish wit, sense of humor and her value of hard work.

Beulah loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to be a stay at home mom because she was able to raise and take care of her four daughters. She continued that care with her grandchildren. Recently, Beulah's daughters chose to return that love by caring for her in their homes. Beulah had a quiet, enduring trust in her "Good Lord." Her entire family has felt very fortunate and blessed to have her in their lives.
