Clyde "Doc" Wiper 1929 - 2005

Clyde "Doc" Wiper, 76, Bowbells, died Monday, December 19, 2005, in a Minot nursing home.

Clyde was born January 2, 1929, in Minot, ND, the son of Raymond and Violet (Norlin) Wiper. He was raised in Bowbells and graduated from Bowbells High School in 1947. He attended the University of North Dakota at Grand Forks for two years.

In the early 50s he returned to Bowbells and took over the farming operation from his father. Clyde lived and farmed his entire life in the Bowbells area. He entered Trinity Nursing Home in Minot in November of 2003.

Clyde was a lifetime member of United Methodist Church, Bowbells. He enjoyed the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing. He was a lifetime sports follower and an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox. For many years Clyde was the manager of the independent border league baseball team out of Bowbells. Clyde wintered in Arizona for a number of years.

Survivors: Brothers, Ray (Joyce) Wiper, Bowbells, and John (Bev) Wiper, Minneapolis, MN; nieces and nephews, Ann (Peter) Gerber, Robert Wiper, Tamara Wiper and Dr. Christina Wiper; numerous cousins also survive.

Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Violet (Norlin) Wiper; a niece, Mary K. Wiper, and his grandparents.

Funeral: Thursday, December 29, 2005, at 11:00 a.m., at United Methodist Church, Bowbells.

Visitation: Wednesday from noon to 7:00 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, MINOT, and Thursday one hour prior to the service in the church.

Burial: Bowbells Cemetery, Bowbells, ND
