Dorothy Marie (Morrow) Wiltse 1915 - 2003

Dorothy Marie (Morrow) Wiltse, 87, Emerald Court, 520 28 Ave SE, Minot, died Sunday, January 26, 2003, in her home.

Dorothy was born February 22, 1915, in Deering, ND, the daughter of Henry Ryan and Vera Marie (Carpenter) Morrow. In 1919, her family moved to Pengilly, MN. They returned to the farm at Deering in 1928. She attended school in Deering and graduated from Deering High School. On August 29, 1936, she married Delbert Wiltse at her home in Deering. They farmed in Deering Township, McHenry County, east of Deering, throughout their married life. In 1984, they moved to Minot. Delbert passed away on September 3, 1991. Dorothy continued to live in Minot until the time of her death.

Dorothy was a member of the Deering Congregational Church and served on the church board. She was also active in the church womens group and taught Sunday school. She served on the Deering School Board. She was a member of the Sister Kenny Foundation, American Cancer Society, Easter Seals, and the Deering Homemakers. Dorothy attended United Congregational Church of Christ in Minot with the transfer of her residence.

She is survived by her son, David (Sharon) Wiltse, Kyle, TX; daughters, Joyce Peterson, Minot, Patsy (Ed) Brunner, Pekin, IL, Beverly Hanson, Jamestown, ND, and Caroline (Tom) Schepman, Lima, OH; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Milton Staley, Redding, CA; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Nerem, Minot, and Sena Thrailkill, Minot, and many nieces and nephews. Her husband, parents, five brothers, two sisters, and two sons-in-law preceded her in death.

Funeral: Thursday, January 30, 2003, at 11:00 am at United Congregational Church of Christ, Minot.

Visitation: Wednesday, January 29, 2003 from noon until 7:00 pm at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
