Howard F. Wilson 1912 - 2007


Howard F. Wilson, 94, Minot, died Thursday, February 8, 2007 in a Minot nursing home.

Howard was born November 26, 1912 in Tatman Township, Ward County, ND, near Minot, ND, the son of Adam Boyd and Anna (Keyes) Wilson. He was raised and educated in Minot and graduated from Minot High School in 1931. He attended Minot State College for 3 years. He began working at Northern States Power Company in Minot.

Howard joined the United States Army in 1942 and served with the 816th Signal Service Company in France and Belgium during World War II. He was honorably discharged and returned to North Dakota and resumed employment at NSP. Howard retired from NSP in 1973 after 38 years of service.

On August 11, 1956, Howard married Neola M. (Buchanan) McCaffree.
She died on February 16, 1995.

Howard was a very active member of Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot, where he served on the church board and on several committees over the years. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Golden K Kiwanis, all in Minot.

Survivors: Sister, Lillian Wilson, Minot; brother, Norris (Gerda) Wilson, Tioga; nephews, Jim (Ann) Wilson and John Wilson; niece, Ruth (Robert) Puttre; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; stepdaughter, Donna Myers, Everett, WA, and one step-grandchild.

Howard was preceded in death by his wife, Neola, and his parents, Adam and Anna Wilson.

Funeral: Monday, February 12, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot.

Visitation: Monday, one hour prior to the service in the church.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
