Dorothy I. Williams 1905 - 2003

Dorothy I. Williams, 97, 600 South Main St., Minot, died Friday in a Minot nursing home.

She was born November 27, 1905, to G.A. and Elizabeth (Farver) Luke near Lone Tree, ND. She was reared and educated near Lone Tree and graduated from Lone Tree High School. She then attended Minot State Teachers College, where she received a two-year standard degree. She taught school in Montana and also in Tagus, Des Lacs, and the Rolling Green, ND areas for several years.

On February 25, 1939, she married F.R. "Ray" Williams in Minot. The lived and farmed south of Des Lacs until Ray's death in 1987. She later moved into Edgewood Vista and resided there until February of 1994 when she moved to Manor Care Nursing home, where she has since resided.

She attended Des Lacs Methodist Church and was active in the Methodist Womens Society. She was also a member of the Rolling Green Homemakers Club.

Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, Terrie R. and Alan J. Lee, Berthold; grandson, Scott J. Lee, Fargo; sisters-in-law, Ione Luke, Greenville, OH and Mae Luke, Berthold, ND and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents and brothers, Darrell, Charles, Kenneth and Galen Luke.

Funeral: Tuesday, 2:00 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, Minot.

Visitation: Monday from noon until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial will take place in the spring of 2003 at Rolling Green Cemetery, rural Des Lacs, ND.
