Donald C. Williams 1923 - 2002


Donald C. Williams, 79, Garrison, ND, died Thursday, December 12, 2002, in a Garrison nursing care facility.

He was born August 26, 1923, the son of Edward and Rose (Mizeur) Williams.
As a young man, he moved with his parents to Donnybrook, ND. A few years later, he entered the Grafton State School for the Handicapped, Grafton, ND, and lived there until 1977. He then move to Hazen, ND, and worked as a farmer for a time. His handicap forced him to quit work, and he moved to Garrison, ND, where he lived in the Garrison Nursing Home for several years. He moved to Minot, ND, and lived at the Americana Nursing Home for a time. He returned to Garrison and remained living there for the rest of his life.

He was a former member of St. Martin's Catholic Church, Hazen. In his spare time, he enjoyed doing crafts and playing cards with his friends. His faith and religion were a very important part of his life.

Survivors: siblings, Julia Morrow, Luella Guttormson and Jerry Williams, all of Kenosha, WI, Arlene Brower, Wisconsin Dells, WI, Clarice Swab and Joyce Selbert, Marietta, GA, and Lavern Pulara, Florida. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. His parents, sisters, Evelyn Prescott and Donna Brown, and brothers, Lyle, Orville, Eugene, Ernest, and Richard Williams, preceded him in death.

Funeral Mass: Monday, December 16, 2002, 10:30 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home Chapel, Minot, ND

Visitation: Sunday, December 15, 2002, from noon to 5:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND
