Alvina H. Williams 1917 - 2009

Alvina Williams PhotoAlvina H. Williams, 92, Minot, died Saturday, November 21, 2009 in a Minot nursing home.

Alvina H. Larson was born February 12, 1917 in Blaisdell, ND, the daughter of Louie and Constance (Evenson) Larson, and a graduate of Palermo, ND, High School in 1935.

Alvina married Russell Williams, May 10, 1941 and they lived in Minot until 1969 when they moved to Fargo, ND.  After working many years as a nurse’s aid, she retired in 1983, at which time they again returned to Minot, where she lived until her death.

Alvina was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and a former member of the Moose Lodge Auxiliary.

Those who shared in her life:  sons, Michael, Fargo, ND; David (Virginia), Carlton, OR, and Gregory (Judy), Berthoud, CO; seven grandchildren, Rachel, Sadie, Vanessa, Jake, Dennis, Elizabeth and Karmen; five great-grandchildren, Fate, Quentin, Sebastian, Jake and Joey; brother, Clifford (Lois) Larson; sister, Kathleen (Charles) Pratt; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Alvina was preceded in death by her husband, Russell in 1984; daughter, Virginia Williams in 1998; daughter-in-law, Betty J. Williams in 2008; sisters, Geneva Sundt, Doris Stevick and Bernice Johnson, and brother, Lavern Larson.  She will be missed.

Funeral:  Friday, November 27, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.

Visitation:  Friday, November 27, 2009, from 10:00 a.m. to service time at the funeral home.

Burial:  Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot, ND.

Following the graveside service everyone is invited to join the family for fellowship and luncheon at the Sleep Inn Suites, 2400 10th St. SW, Minot, located on the south side of Dakota Square Mall.

Our family would like to thank everyone for the many acts of kindness shown during this difficult time.  Your thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated and will never be forgotten.  God bless the memory of Alvina Williams!
