Linda M. Widmayer 1947 - 2009

Linda M. Widmayer, 62, Granville, ND, went to be with her Heavenly Father Tuesday, August 4, 2009 in a Minot hospital.

Linda Strege was born on May 27, 1947, a daughter of Loran and Celia (Anderson) Strege, in Minot, ND. She was raised and educated in Granville, ND, graduating from Granville High School in 1965. She furthered her education by attending Bernie's School of Hair Design.

On January 29, 1966, she was united in marriage to Gerald "Gary" Widmayer. They made their home in Granville, where they raised their two children, Darin and Dawn. Linda also worked for the United States Postal Service for 20 years in Granville and Minot. They spent the last few winters in Mesa, AZ.

Her life was so blessed when her granddaughters were born. They were her sunshine and she loved every minute of being with them.

She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Granville, ND.

Husband Gary, Granville, ND; children: Darin Widmayer, Minot, Dawn Widmayer, Lake Havasu, AZ; three granddaughters Courtney Lynn Widmayer, Hailey Jordan Widmayer and Sarah Nicole Widmayer; sisters Lola (John) Six, Nashua, NH, Lorena (Don) Lighthart, Loveland, CO; Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Muriel Freeman, Myrna Greene and Marlys Strege

Visitation: There will be no reviewal, however friends may sign a register book on Monday from 9:30 until service time at the church

Memorial Service: Monday, August 10, 2009 at 11 am at First Lutheran Church, Granville, ND.

Burial: Granville Community Cemetery, Granville, ND

Immediately following the graveside service there will be lunch and fellowship in the lower level of the church. Everyone is invited to join the family for this time.

The Widmayer family would like to thank everyone for the many acts of kindness shown to them during this difficult time. Your thoughts and prayers are greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten. May God bless the memory of Linda.
