Gayle A. Werre • 1953 - 2005 Gayle A.Werre, 52, 1105 5th Ave. SW, Minot, ND, died Saturday, January 7, 2006, in her home. Gayle Ann Rasmusson was born on April 5, 1953, the daughter of Lowell R. and Mavis (Atherton) Rasmusson in Ada, Minnesota. She was raised and educated in Dunseith, ND, and Bottineau, ND. She lived there until 1966, when her family moved to Minot. She attended Minot High School. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith in Minot. In 1969, Gayle started employment with Americana Nursing Home, now ManorCare Health Services, at the age of 16. Gayle was married to Ruben Werre on November 14, 1969, in Minot. They made their home in Minot where she continued her employment as a certified nursing assistant at ManorCare. Ill health forced her to retire in September of 2005 after 36 years at ManorCare. In 2004, she received the Rosalyn Carter Award which is a caregiving award that has only been awarded to three others across the nation. She is the only CNA to be awarded this; the other three are registered nurses. She attended Bread of Life Lutheran Church, Minot. She enjoyed working, taking care of her home, watching movies, and playing BINGO. She was very happy with what she had, and was the type of person who always thought of other people first and could put a smile on your face. She enjoyed visiting and drinking coffee with her mother every morning and was always taking care of someone else. She loved her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Surviving family includes: husband, Ruben, Minot; sons, Jason (Dawn) Werre and Daniel Werre, both of Minot; daughter, Robin Mitz and her fiancé, Ellis Couch, Minot; grandchildren, Tyler Willard, Brady, Daltan, and Heaven Werre; Haile and Keona Werre; and Destin Mitz; mother, Mavis (Robert "Bud") Sandstrom, Minot; sister, Lisa Rasmusson, Minot; brothers, Russel Rasmusson, Rochester, MN, and David Rasmusson, Minot; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Gayle was preceded in death by her father, Lowell; grandparents, Frank and Anna Atherton. Funeral: Tuesday, January 10, 2006, at 11:00 am at
