Irvin A. Wendschlag 1923 - 2006 Irvin was born on October 11, 1923, the son of Christian and Sophie (Nessel) Wendschlag, in Garrison, ND. He was reared and educated in the Garrison and Max areas, graduating from Max High School in 1941. On December 15, 1944 he enlisted into the United States Army at Fort Snelling, MN. He proudly served his country, receiving the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Ribbon. He was honorably discharged on December 3, 1946 at Fort Sheridan, IL. In May of 1950 he was united in marriage to Margie Fedorenko at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, in Butte, ND. They moved to Minot where Irvin worked for Sears Roebuck and Company as department manager in the hardware and paint departments. He then worked as a parts manager for various implement dealers, including Krebsbach's, L.E. Beeter Company and Foley Equipment. Irvin also worked for the Ted Schweigert Volkswagen dealership as parts manager. Irvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, card games, playing the accordion and listening to old time dance music. He was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he served as an usher and in other capacities. He was a member of the Eagles Club and American Legion, both of Minot. He is survived by: Three sons, Craig Wendschlag, Golden Valley, MN, Curt Wendschlag, Littleton, CO, and Rick Wendschlag, Max, ND and his friend, Holly, of Minot, one grandson, Michael Wendschlag, sisters: Ella Fallis, Missoula, MT and Alma Mohr, Spokane, WA: numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents, granddaughter, Michelle Wendschlag, brothers, Ernest, Lenhard, Arnold, and sisters, Martha Wenger and Alvina Hintz. Visitation: Saturday, November 4 and Sunday, November 5, 2006 from noon until 5 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot. Funeral Service: Monday, November 6, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Brethren Church, Minot. Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot. Officiant: Rev.
