Laura Weltikol • 1915 - 2008 Laura Bjelland was born December 25, 1915, south of Tagus, ND, a daughter of Lars and Martha (Oyness) Bjelland. She was educated at the Tagus Public School. Laura married Gladwin M. Weltikol August 9, 1941, in Sidney, MT. They lived and farmed in the Tagus area for several years where they raised cattle and farmed small grains. They moved to Minot in December of 2001. Gladwin passed away May 10, 2003. Following her husband's death, she had continued to reside in Minot. She attended St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Tagus until it closed in 2001 and then became a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Berthold. She was also a member of the Zion Lutheran Church Ladies Circle and the Berthold Senior Citizens, as well as the Moose Lodge, Sons of Norway, and the Minot Quilt Guild, all of Minot. Her special interests were her grandchildren and great-grandchildren,
crocheting, quilting, and reading. Laura was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Gladwin; sister, Marget Lee; and brothers, Berent and Louis Bjelland. Funeral: Saturday, August 2, 2008, at 11:00 a.m. at
