Eva Welk, 93, Minot, died Sunday, October 5, 2008 in a Minot nursing home.

Eva Meyer was born on February 5, 1915, a daughter of Frank and Marian (Senger) Meyer in Karlsruhe, ND. She was raised and educated in the Karlsruhe and Velva area, graduating from Velva High School in 1934.

In 1935, Eva was united in marriage to Joe Welk. Joe died in 1952. On August 13, 1953, she was united in marriage to August Welk in Dearborn, MI. They lived in Michigan for a time before moving to Mesa, AZ. In 1994 they moved to Rugby, ND. August died September 15, 2006. Following his death, she moved to Brentmoor in Minot.

Eva was a member of the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, in Karlsruhe, where she was active with the ladies auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo, card games, especially Rummy, and Polka dancing with August.

Surviving relatives: Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive.

Eva was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Joe and August, three sisters Regina Richter, Johanna Burkhardsmeier, Katherine Gange and one brother Richard Meyer.

Visitation: Wednesday, October 8, 2008 from 3-7 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Funeral Service: Thursday, October 9, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Burial: Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery, Karlsruhe, ND

Memorials are preferred to donors choice.
