Ruby C. Weishaar 1923 - 2010

Ruby C. Heinle was born November 22, 1923 in Turtle Lake, ND to Rudolph A. and Lydia (Waltz) Heinle.  She was raised in Turtle Lake and graduated from Turtle Lake High School.  She attended Minot State Teachers College and earned her Standard Teaching Certificate.  Ruby taught school for two years in a country school near Benedict.

On December 26, 1943, Ruby married Albert Weishaar, at the Baptist Church in Turtle Lake, ND.  Following their marriage they made their home in Turtle Lake.  While her husband was serving overseas during World War II, Ruby lived in Washington State and worked as a waitress.   Following his honorable discharge from the service they moved to Minot, where they lived until 1950, when they moved to Minneapolis, MN.  In 1967 they moved to Auburn, WA.  While in Auburn, Ruby worked at the University of Washington as a student registrar. In 1983 they moved to Minot, where she since has lived. 

Ruby and Al wintered in Mission, TX, for many years.  Al died on September 30, 2002.

Ruby was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Minot, and the UMW at the church.  She was also a member of Compassionate Friends and was a member of TOPS, where she served as president and attended the National TOPS Convention in Hawaii.  Ruby and Al loved to dance and attended Polka Fest in Minnesota each year.  Together they loved camping and camped in several states in the U.S.  Ruby loved to be on the move and enjoyed several bus trips around the country. 

Those who shared in her life, brothers and sisters, Herbert Heinle, Casselton, ND, Orpha Evans, Forest Grove, OR, W.D. (Shirley) Heinle, Midway City, CA, Richard Heinle, Turtle Lake, ND, Doris (Burnell) Repnow and Ramona (Francis) Schaan, all of Minot, Ana (Kenton “Buck”) Buchholz, Gackle, ND, and James (Nanette) Heinle, Rosemont, MN; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins survive.

Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Albert; daughter, Carlotta; sister, Ruth Scalf; brothers, Marvin and Jack Heinle.

Funeral:  Friday, November 12, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, Minot, ND.

Visitation and prayer service:  Visitation will be Thursday, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00, all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial:  Friday at 3:00 p.m. at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery, Mandan, ND.
