Niel G. "Butch" Webster 1956 - 2011

Niel Webster PhotoNiel G. “Butch” Webster, 55, Minot, died Wednesday, June 1, 2011 in a Minot hospital.

Niel Gene Webster was born March 30, 1956 in Minot, ND to Jerry and Edith (Haugen) Webster.  He was raised in Minot and at the age of 14 started working at the Ward Standard Station in Minot.  In 1975 he graduated from Minot High School.

Butch worked at Great Plains Supply, Warner Construction, Border States Power and later at Cenex Chemical.  He was transferred to the Seed Department at Cenex Chemical which later became Windfield Solutions, where he worked until ill health forced him to retire last year.

Butch loved to hunt and fish and made many trips to Deepwater, Dakota Waters and in more recent years Devils Lake, where he enjoyed fishing with his friends.  In his spare time he liked to work on his John Deere Model 60 tractor.  He enjoyed attending threshing shows and was a member of the North East North Dakota Pioneer Machinery Association in Park River, ND.  He also volunteered for many years at the Hawk Threshing Museum in Wolford, ND, helping them get ready for threshing events.

He loved to help his relatives on the Burtch Farm whenever he could, and his favorite place to stop and eat was the Deering Café.  Butch was also a member of the Mouse River Loop Pheasants.

Those who shared in his life, His mother, Edith “Dee” Webster, Minot; sisters, Bertha Hauze and Janet Webster, both of Minot; nephew, Jonathan Webster and niece, Jessica (Justin) Stacy; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Butch was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Webster, and a nephew, Jeremy Hauze.

Funeral:  Monday, June 6, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Vincent United Methodist Church, Minot, ND.

Visitation:  Sunday, June 5, 2011, from 12:00 to 5:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial:  Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.

Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to drive with both headlights and hazard lights on.  Use caution when crossing intersections.  At the cemetery please double park, then follow the family graveside for the final prayers.

Those not attending the graveside service may begin the lunch and fellowship and the family will join you when they return from the cemetery.

Our family would like to thank everyone for the many acts of kindness shown during this difficult time.  Your thoughts and prayers are deeply appreciated and will never be forgotten.
