Dave V. "Tony" Webster 1933 - 2002

Dave V. "Tony" Webster, 69, 721 Arbor Ave., Minot, died Thursday, August 22, 2002, in a Minot hospital, following a battle with lung cancer.

Dave was born January 12, 1933, in rural Roseglen, ND, the son of Leon and Bertha (Hansen) Webster. He was raised and educated in the rural Minot area.

On March 14, 1954 he married Joanne Jellum at the Deering Lutheran Church, in Deering, ND. Following their marriage he worked at Jellum's Grocery in Deering until 1957. He was then employed at Gamble Robinson until 1967. From 1967 to 1970 he worked as a meat cutter at Dakota Meats. In 1970, Dave began employment with the Minot Public Schools as custodian. While working as custodian, Dave worked part-time at Dakota Meats, and also at Charlie's Country Sausage. He retired from the Minot Public Schools in October of 1995, but continued working for Charlie's Country Sausage until ill health forced him to retire in May of 2002.

Dave was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot. He was a member of the Eagles Aerie and the Moose Lodge, both Minot. He was also a member of the National Rifle Association and the National Trapper's Association. Dave loved hunting, fishing, and trapping. For many years Dave owned and operated S and T Fireworks stand in Minot.

Survivors: Wife, Joanne, Minot; daughters, Kathy (Richard) Smith, Pinson, Alabama, Laurie (Raymond) Herslip, Deering, ND, Robin (Henry) Brekhus, Douglas, AZ, Shelley Hingst (Byron Buettner), Peggy (Rodney) Lynch, all of Minot; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Tom Webster, and Calno (Gayle) Webster, all Minot; sisters, Helen Billing, Dorothy "Pinky" Haines, and Ella LaFlame, all of Minot, Marge Sprenger, of Ronan, Montana, Betty (Lowell) O'Brien, and Evelyn (Tom) Ballweber, all of Sweet Home, OR, Nellie (Richard) Burtch, Norwich, ND, and Cleone (Jim) Okken, Medical Lake, WA; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Etta "Dot" Wahl; brothers, Jack, Hans, Jerry and Lyle Webster.

Funeral: Monday, August 26, 2002, at 11:00 a.m., at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot.

Visitation: Sunday, August 25, 2002, 12:00 to 5:00 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Family Prayer Service: Sunday, August 25, 2002, at 5:00 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
