Donald W. Weber Sr. 1926- 2005

Donald W. Weber Sr., 78, 3120 72nd St SE, Minot died Saturday, May 7, 2005 in his home.

Donald was born on June 22, 1926, in Harvey, ND, the son of William and Clementine (Webber) Weber. He was raised and educated in Harvey and graduated from Harvey High School.

On June 18, 1944, Donald enlisted in the United States Navy and served on a destroyer in the Pacific during World War II. He was honorably discharged on February 23, 1946, and returned to North Dakota.

On October 23, 1948, Donald was united in marriage to Ruth Alice Kottsick at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot. Following their marriage the couple made their home in Minot, where Donald worked at Bray's Cleaners. In 1970 he went to work as supervisor at the Minot Air Force Base in the Commissary Warehouse, where he worked until his retirement on June 2, 1989.

Donald enjoyed doing yard work, working in his garden and taking care of his raspberry bushes. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and doing projects in the yard with them.

Donald was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, and the American Legion William G. Carroll Post #26, both in Minot.

He is survived by: His wife of 57 years: Ruth Weber, Minot: Sons: Brad Weber and Donald Weber, Jr.,both of Minot; Daughters: Deb Sharp, Bismarck, ND; Cheryl (Ed) Grandchamp, Rhode Island; Becky Sykes, Florida; Lori (Greg) Kelly, West Fargo, ND; Michelle (Scott) Huber, Indiana.
15 grandchildren: 13 great grandchildren: Brother: Gerald Weber, San Francisco, CA: Sister; Val Benham, Portland, OR. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

Donald was preceded in death by: his parents; sisters, Edith, Annebelle, Catherine, and brothers Joe and Clem Weber.

Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign a register book Thursday from 9:00 a,m, until service time.

Memorial Service: Thursday, May 12, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot

Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot
