Ione Weaver Leggett, 56, Minot, died Wednesday, August 8, 2007, as a result of a motor vehicle accident in Minot.

Ione Renae Leggett was born on July 23, 1951, in Fargo, ND, the daughter of Raymond and Lois Leggett. She started her education in Stanley, ND, and finished her schooling in Minot. She married Terry Weishaar in 1967, but lost him shortly thereafter in a tragic car accident. In 1981, she married Michael Weaver, they were divorced in 2001.

Ione spent her life in love with her children, Kerri Lee, Kelli Rae, Steven Michael, and David Lee. To every life she touched, Ione gave kindness, compassion and tolerance; music, song and dance; smiles, laughter and whole-hearted, open-armed love.

"Family Love,"… words Ione spoke and words she lived by. If you knew Ione, you were loved by Ione and you loved her back. She didn't know the meaning of the word stranger.

A talented woman, Ione loved her carpentry work, arts, crafts and every baby born into her life received a special blanket sewn by Ione. She took on the world and demanded the world accept her and love her just the way she was. She was a loving mom, grandma, great-grandma, daughter, sister and a cherished friend. We love you Ione and you will be missed. Have fun dancing with the angels.

Surviving family includes: daughters, Kerri Weishaar, Minot, and Kelli (Bill) Betteker, Hagerstown, MD; sons, Steven Weaver, Woodinville, WA, and David Weaver, Lynnwood, WA; mother, Lois Pitts, Minot, ND; brothers, Richard (Elaine) Leggett, Denver, CO, and Steve Leggett, Tijeras, NM; sister, Lola Rogers, Tijeras, NM; five grandchildren, NaOmy, Lindsay, Sarah, Devin, Terrence; two great-grandchildren, Desiree and Gabriel; and a special friend, Charlie Herrmann, Minot.
