Willy Warner 1948 - 2009 Willy, Wilburt J. Warner was born December 9, 1948, a son of Clifford and Esther (Rowell) Warner, in Jump River, Wisconsin. He was raised in Jump River, Wisconsin, and graduated from Guelph High School, Guelph, ND, in 1968. Willy was drafted in the United States Army January 9, 1968. He proudly served his country during the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged October 23, 1970. He worked on the Grand Junction Railroad and later as a seismographer for Drader Oil Company. He had also worked for Stein Chemical in Minot. Willy married Dorathy Hills February 5, 1983, in Minot. They made their home in Sawyer, ND. He was a member of Church of the Nazarene in Sawyer, ND. He served as president of the New Horizon Motorcycle Club, Disabled American Veterans, Vietnam Veterans Chapter 80 as secretary, and Lisbon Coordinating Council where he inspected the Good Old Soldiers Home in Lisbon. He enjoyed riding motorcycle, gardening, cooking, camping, and reading. He especially enjoyed his children, wife, and family. Surviving family includes: wife, Dorathy, Sawyer, children, Jon A (Patty) Warner, Mapleton, ND, and David L. Warner, Sawyer; brothers, Donald (Loyce) Warner, Houston, TX, Dennis (Connie) Warner, Austin, TX, sisters, Linda (John) Crabtree, Pheasent Lake, ND, Judy (Art) Fredrick, Houghton, SD, Nancy (Rick) Bigler, Sheboygan, WI, and Irene (Ted) Yde, Hecla, SD; sisters-in-law, Shirley (Kenneth) Quick, Mandan, and Joyce Berg, Benedict; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Willy was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral: Friday, February 6, 2009, at 10:30 a.m. at
Southside Church of the Nazarene, Minot. Officiant: Pastor Scott Mehlhoff Music Honorary Bearers: All motorcycle clubs and Veterans Active Bearers: Bruce Reich, Daryl Kunhnnen,Magoo, Rocky Lawson, Rich Stark, Tom Tibbs Military honors accorded by the ND National Funeral Honor Guard. Immediately following the funeral service, please join the family for a time of fellowship and lunch in the church fellowship hall. The graveside service will commence at 3 pm in Mandan.
