Arnold E. Walter Sr • 1922 - 2007 Arnold was born May 22, 1922, the son of Wilhelm and Elsa (Rentz) Walter in on the family farm near Benedict, ND. He was grew up on his father's farm, and attended country school in the Benedict area. On March 22, 1946, he enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was honorably discharged on August 7, 1946. Following his discharge, he returned to the farm, to take over the operations. Arnold was united in marriage to Geneveive Anderson on October 1, 1949 at Bethany Lutheran Church in Minot, ND. They made their home on a farm near Benedict, ND, where they farmed and raised cattle until the late 1970s. He then worked in road construction and drove the Max school bus. Arnold loved the outdoors, working on small engines and going to farm auction sales. He was loved much and will be greatly missed. He is survived by: Wife of 57 years Genevieve Walter, Garrison, ND: sons: Arnold Walter Jr, Seattle, WA; Andrew (Leona) Walter, Minot, ND: daughters: Naomi (Jim) Price, St. Paul, MN; and Susan (Bill) Parker, Memphis, TN; granddaughter: April Farmer, Minot. Great-grandson: Evan Blackwell; sister: Erna Hauf, Max: numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Arnold was preceded in death by his daughter Melody, sisters Alice (Otto) Hauf, Viola (Roy) Tidwell, and his parents.
