Bill Walhood 1956 - 2005 Bill Walhood, 49, Minot died Wednesday, September 7, 2005 in his home after a courageous battle with cancer. Bill L. Walhood was born on March 14, 1956, the son of Benjamin G. and Barbara (Fennell) Walhood, in Minot. He was reared and educated in the Minot area, attending the Minot Public Schools. On September 27, 1973, Bill entered the United States Navy; He proudly served his country until his honorable discharge on September 26, 1979. Following his discharge, Bill attended the North Dakota State University, and graduated from the North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton's Diesel Mechanic program. Bill was united in marriage to Donna Crume on April 21, 1979
in Marshall Town, IA. Following their marriage the couple lived
in Bancroft, IA, where Bill worked for International Harvest
as a diesel mechanic. In 1980, they moved to Minot, where Bill
worked on the oil rigs, before starting driving bus for Northland
Bus. He drove the route for Bell School for 17 plus years. He
also drove charter trips in the summertime. The couple divorced
in 2005. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, and attended the Bethany Lutheran Church, He is survived by: Sons: Casey Walhood, Minot; Cory Walhood, Minot; Mother: Barbara Walhood, Minot, ND; brothers: Bennie "Butch" (Delores) Walhood, Big Lake, MN; Bruce Walhood, Minot; sister: Bonnie (Terry) Monroe, Bossier City, LA; loving Ex-wife: Donna Walhood, Minot; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. He was preceded in death by his father and niece Kerri Ann. Visitation: There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign a register book on Friday, September 9, 2005 from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot Memorial Service: Saturday, September 10, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot Burial: A private family burial will take place at a later time.
