Valerie Wald 1956 - 2010 Valerie Jo Wald was born January 3, 1956, a daughter of Ambrose and Kathryn (Feist) Wald, in Minot, ND. She was raised in Karlsruhe and attended elementary and high school at the ND School for the Deaf in Devils Lake, ND, graduating in 1976. She became a client of the Minot Vocational Adjustment Workshop doing various jobs which included sorting mail at the Minot Air Force Base, cleaning offices, evaluating books and listing them for sale on Amazon.com, and volunteer work within the group home. Since 1976, she lived in apartments and group homes associated with the MVAW. In October of 2009, due to her declining health, she became a resident of ManorCare Health Services. She was a former member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Karlsruhe. She was an avid Minnesota Viking Fan and even attended a game. She enjoyed family gatherings, food, and watching TV game shows. A special thank you to the staff and residents of the Minot Vocational Adjustment Workshop, the staff of ManorCare, and the staff of Trinity Hospital for your kindness and special care given to Valerie. Her loving family includes: sisters, Audrey Engelhard, Minot, Mildred (Charlie) Bartsch, Minot, Lindamarie Koengeter, Washington, DC, Sandy (Carl) Valensky, Waterford, MI, and Mona (Marvin) Miller, Velva;
brothers, Donald (Bertha) Wald, Minot, Robert (Carolyn Shelley) Wald, Austin, TX, and Brian (Bonnie) Wald, Minot; sister-in-law, Gerri Wald, Sioux Falls, SD;
God-Father, Dan Feist, Minot; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
