LaVerne M. Wahl 1919 - 2004

Laverne M. Wahl, 84, 600 South Main, Minot, died Tuesday in a Minot hospital.

She was born May 29, 1919, in Lake City, MN to Oscar and Alma (Larson) Brostrom. As a young child, she moved with her family to Noonan and later to Minot where she attended schools in both Minot and Burlington.

In 1942, she married Otto Wahl at her parent's house by Rev. Ralph Brostrom. They farmed near Lansford, Wilton and Turtle Lake and moved to Minot in 1966. Otto died in 1983. Laverne continued living in Minot and currently resided at ManorCare Health Services.

She was a member of the West Minot Church of God for over 64 years. She was a very active member in the church and served as a custodian there for over 20 years.

Survivors: children, Gerald (Judy) Wahl, Springville, Utah, Roland (Linda) Wahl, Detroit, Michigan, Annette DeWitt, Las Vegas, NV, Leon (Holli) Wahl, Williston, Bruce (Melonia) Wahl, Oneida, SD and Byron (Connie) Wahl, Minot; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Charlotte (Wallace) Rampy, Minot, Joyce (Lester) Harr, Cleveland, TN and Darlene Homgren, Estevan, Saskatchewan and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; granddaughter, Roxanne Buttler, and brothers and sisters, Ethel Brostrom, Raymond Brostrom, Gladys Sibell, Ralph Brostrom, Archie Brostrom and Esther Wood.

Funeral: Friday, 2:00 p.m. at West Minot Church of God.

Visitation: Thursday from noon until 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
