Argyll G. Wade 1928 - 2003 Argyll G. Wade, 75, Kenmare, died Saturday, September 20, 2003, in his home. Argyll was born July 11, 1928, on the family farm near Kenmare, the son of Percy Sr. and Mary (Shafer) Wade. He was raised and educated in that area. On October 10, 1954, Argyll married Natalie Binfield at Elmdale Lutheran Church in Niobe, ND, with Pastor Earl Bernsten officiating. The couple lived one month in Kenmare and then moved to the family farm where they lived for one year. They moved to Missouri for a time where Argyll worked as a carpenter and also did other jobs for numerous people. They moved back to the Kenmare area where he worked for Odin Shaver in his garage for a short time. Argyll later worked in South Dakota at the Edgemont Uranium Mine and then in Tioga as a mechanic for Mendenhall Construction. The winter of 1958 he worked for his brother, Percy Wade, Jr. at Percy's gas station in Bridger, Montana. One year he worked for Boeing in Seattle, Washington. He raised cattle with his two brothers, and in 1959 he began farming on his own. He farmed in the Kenmare area until 1997 when he rented his land out. Argyll did shop work and built equipment for the Farmers Union in Kenmare. He installed air conditioning in the United States and Canada. Following his retirement he helped his wife with her garden. In 1964 Argyll served as supervisor for Lakeview Township, and he was on the township board for 49 years. He also served as one of the directors on the Farmers Union Board in Kenmare. Argyll loved telling jokes and was willing to help anyone when they needed it. Survivors: Wife, Natalie, Kenmare; daughters, Kathy (James) McCormack, Des Lacs, and their daughter, Chaya Leigh McCormack; Rosalie Woolard, Huachuca City, AZ, and her children, Jeremy and Jaclyn; brother, Mavor (Janet) Wade, Kenmare; sisters, Ardis Mortensen, Williston, Glaudia (Elroy "Buster") Bly, Lignite, and Cheryl (Harley) Dornink, Rochester, MN; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive. Argyll was preceded in death by his parents, and five brothers and one sister. Funeral: Friday, September 26, 2003, at 10:30 a.m., at Elmdale Lutheran Church, Niobe, ND. Visitation: Thursday, September 25, 2003, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Kenmare, ND. Burial: Friday at 12:30 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, rural Kenmare, ND.
