Ermil Eileen Votava 1924 - 2003

Ermil Eileen Votava, 79, 1205 12th St. NW, Minot, died Wednesday, June 25, 2003 in her home.

She was born January 11, 1924, in Fordville, ND to Fred and Jennie (Gibbons) Wood. She was reared and educated in the Fordville area and graduated from Fordville High School. Following graduation, she worked at the Fordville Post Office and the Fordville Creamery. On November 27, 1942, she married Romane Votava in Grafton. They moved to Minot in 1958, where she was employed by Nash Finch, Dakota Drug and later in the grain business with her husband.

She was a member of the Royal Neighbors of American and Christ Lutheran Church, Minot. Ermil enjoyed her family's love for the outdoors, accompanying her husband, sons and grandsons on many goose scouting trips and a few hunting trips. She also helped to clean game on many occasions.

Ermil was known for her talent of cooking and baking. She lived for family and friends and her door was always open with fresh baked goods and a warm smile. She will be missed.

Survivors: husband, Romane, Minot; sons, Richard Votava and his wife June, and Larry Votava, all of Minot; grandsons, Jason and his wife Mary Beth and Jon Votava; great-grandson, Jayden Votava; sister-in-law, Doris Wood, Fordville, ND; several nieces and nephews; step-grandchildren, Jeff Reed, Debbie Hartman and Susan Reed. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Roy Wood, and daughter-in-law, Ann Votava.

Funeral: Monday, July 7, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, Minot.

Visitation: Saturday and Sunday from noon until 5 at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Burial: Sunset Memorial Gardens, Minot.
