Jennie O. Vedvig 1914- 2010 Jennie O. Olson was born September 12, 1914, a daughter of Anton and Anna (Amlien) Olson, in Toten, Norway. She was raised and educated in Deering, ND. She became a naturalized U.S. citizen on September 15, 1924. She served in the U.S. Navy from 1944-1945 stationed in Seattle, Washington. She was honorably discharged at the rank of seaman second class. She worked as a nurse’s aid in western Montana (1955-1963) and in Minot, North Dakota (1968-1974). During this time she was also self-employed from time to time selling Avon and Home Interior products. She was married to Carl S. Vedvig from 1971 to 1977. She was a member of the Church of Christ in Minot. Surviving family includes: sister, Alice McLaughlin, California; sister-in-law, Edith Olson, Deering; nephew, David Olson; and niece, Lisa.
