Margaret Varberg 1920 - 2006 August 20, 1920 - March 9, 2006 Margaret Varberg, 85, Minot, passed away on March 9, 2006, at Trinity Hospital in Minot, North Dakota. She was born on August 20, 1920, to Martin and Asta Aadnes in Van Hook, North Dakota. Margaret obtained a teaching certificate from Minot State University in 1939 and taught school for two years. She married Byron Varberg in Minot on June 27, 1942. She worked as a bookkeeper in Minot for Firestone, Super Value, and Medical Arts Clinic. They moved to Grand Forks in 1964 where Margaret was employed as Admissions Director at the UND Rehab Hospital and then as a sales associate with Fladland Real Estate. She and Byron returned to Minot in 1985 following his retirement from the Burlington Northern Railroad. She sold for Watne Real Estate for seven years until her retirement. They enjoyed many winters together in Brownsville, Texas. Byron passed away on February 25, 1998. Margaret was a member of First Lutheran Church, Minot, where she sang in the choir, was President of Mother's Club, was active in FLCW and circles, served on the Deaconess Board, and volunteered at the Norsk Hostfest for many years. She was also a member of the Business & Professional Women's Club in Grand Forks and served on the North Dakota State Board of Realtors. She enjoyed walleye fishing on Lake Sakakawea, treating her family and friends to guided trips. She was known for her great sense of humor. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sisters Clara Skaugrud, Ruth Schaust, Astrid Dooley, Inez Hellickson, Borghild Eggum, Christine Aadnes, and brother Rolf Aadnes. She is survived by sisters Eleanor Eggum, Norway; Signe
