Diane Vallie • 1948 - 2010 Diane was born February 29, 1948 in Belcourt, ND, the fifth of ten children born to Edward and Laura Azure. She was raised and educated in Belcourt. Diane attended college in Bismarck and later Albuquerque, NM for a drafter tech. Diane began employment with Portal Pipeline in Minot, which is now Enbridge. She worked there as a drafter for 26 years, until her retirement in March of 2010. Diane enjoyed working with her co-workers and spending time with her son and granddaughter. She loved interior decorating, doing crafts, gardening, playing pull tabs and bingo. Her humor and kindness touched many people she came in contact with. Those who shared in her life, Son, Sam (Dani) Savelkoul, Minot; granddaughter, Desirae Atherton, Minot; dear friend, Keane Vallie, Belcourt; sisters, Shirley (Moses) Montalvo, Betty Cromwell, Donna (Paul) White Owl, Luella (James) Scott, Janice (Michael) Norphleet, Sandra (Ronnie) Short; brother, James (Chic) Azure; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Diane was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Laura, and two sisters and one brother. Visitation: Today, Wednesday, May 19, 2010, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home.
