Phyllis Trapp 1923 - 2005

Phyllis Trapp, a resident of Montesano Washington since 1999, died November 22, 2004 at Montesano Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Phyllis was born January 6, 1923 at home in Minot, North Dakota to Ernest and Bernice (Vandenover) Trapp.

She graduated from Minot High School and received training as a registered medical records administrator at Trinity Hospital, where she worked in the medical records department for 24 years.

She lived in Minot until age 76, when, upon invitation of her niece Penny, she moved to Washington State. Phyllis loved to travel and saw the move as an opportunity to see more of the country. During the last five years of her life, she had the joy of traveling to California by car and Victoria, British Columbia by ferry, walking the beaches of the Pacific Ocean, visiting the mountains including Mount Rainier in Washington State, and attending a major league baseball game in Seattle. She delighted in visits from her family, especially her twin grandnieces Caitlin and Chloe, age 2.

Phyllis always wanted to ride a motorcycle. In the summer of 2004, she had that opportunity when personnel of Montesano Health and Rehabilitation made the arrangements. Although she didn't get to ride it, she did get to climb up on and have her picture taken on a big, shiny, red motorcycle. It was the highlight of her last months.

Phyllis is survived by 6 nieces and nephews, their spouses, children, and grandchildren: Julie (Weber) Self, Fort Worth, Texas; Penny (Robinson) Woodruff, Montesano, Washington; Becky (Robinson) Gappert, Tumwater, Washington; Jeffrey Robinson, Morehead, Minnesota; David Robinson, Williston, North Dakota; and Heidi (Rhodes) Ostrander, Forrest Lake, Minnesota.

Her parents, Ernest and Bernice and her sisters Elizabeth Robinson and Dulcie Rhodes preceded her in death.
